Monitor does not appear to be working,

Monitors, either LCD or CRT, are pretty smart these days and can determine if there is a signal coming from the computer or not. You may have to answer a few questions before you can work out where your problem is really coming from, the Monitor or the Computer.

1. If the power light is on, then what color is it? Generally speaking most monitors have a two color power light. Green indicates that the system is receiving a signal from the computer's video card and if no picture is available then you might be having a problem with the computer itself.

2. If the power light is on and it is yellow, then your problem is going to be one of the following...

a. The VGA/DMI/HDMI Cable has become disconnected - Reconnect and try again.
b. The computer is not on. - Turn on the computer and try again.
c. The computer is on, and the monitor is on but light is still yellow. - Computer may be in a state of sleep or suspended mode which it was unable to get out of. - Reboot the computer. - OR - Problem is with the computer or video card. - You may need a tech.
